Best Playgrounds for People Visiting Chicago

If you are visiting Chicago and want to check out some playgrounds, here are some of the best options for you.

Playground

Maggie Daley Playground

Perhaps the best-known Chicago playground, this playground is on everyone's "best playground in Chicago list" for good reason. It is a huge and sprawling site with lots of options. Highly recommend.

Playground

Elizabeth Benton Playground

In my mind, the best playground downtown is the Elizabeth Benton playground in the LakeShore East Park. This is a charming park by the site-design group with immaculate downtown views while being substantially quieter than nearby options. Get some food at the Mariano's overlooking the park for a cheap and memorable Chicago experience.

Playground

Eli M. Schulman Playground at Seneca Park

Steps off the Mag Mile, this park is an absolute banger that is unmistakably Chicago.

Playground

Ping Tom Memorial Park - Playground

For great skyline views and glimpses into what makes Chicago so great, go to Ping Tom Park in Chinatown. The Chicago River, trains, and nature mix to form a wonderful park. Accessible via the Chinatown stop on the Red Line and via a water taxi (easy parking).

Playground

Walsh Park - Playground

Banger of a park at the eastern edge of the 606 - a converted rail line that is Chicago's improved version of NYC's highline park. Just a great playground with huge structures and unique equipment.
