Expressway Parks
Inspired by a Forgotten Chicago article on the same subject, here are some playgrounds that are built right next to the highway. My sense is that the land for these sites was leftover bits from the construction of the highway and I'm hoping to confirm that via additional research.
Other Chicago Parks were not created from leftover bits of lands, but instead gave up land for the highways. Two of these parks include Columbus Park and Avondale Park.
